These are the notes for our Sunday morning adult Bible study in the book of 1st Kings.  The notes for 2nd Kings is separate even though this was one book in the Hebrew canon.  The primary commentary used in preparing this class is from the New American Commentary set, Paul House is the author of 1st and 2nd Kings.  Background resources and chronology/charts include:  The Old Testament Today by John Walton and Andrew Hill, Ancient Near Eastern Thought and the Old Testament by John Walton, and Chronological and Background Charts of the Old Testament by John Walton.  The notes are intended to be used in conjunction with the class instruction, but can be helpful if read separately from the class.  The material is not "foot noted", but references are made to the author/sources within the flow of the material when major set of material are referenced from the above mentioned works.
